Privacy policy

Data we collect

• Account details: your email address, your name, and the account identifier Apple or Google returns when you sign in with them. With Sign in with Apple you may share a private relay email instead of your own.
• Birth details: your birth date, birth time (if you know it), and birthplace, and the chart computed from them.
• Onboarding answers: your name, birth details, astrology and tarot experience, focus area, and ritual time.
• Your ritual and readings: the cards you draw, the readings shown to you, the reflection moods you pick, your daily intentions, the questions you ask the cards and the context you give a spread, your moon ritual intentions and release notes, and your birthday reading place.
• Compatibility: the name, birth date, birth time, and birthplace of each person you add, and the reports computed for you.
• Shares: a snapshot of each reading or card you share, and whether you have removed it.
• Settings: your time zone, chart preferences, and choices such as Read reversed cards, and Show my name on shares.
• Purchase records: your plan, billing period, subscription status, and the App Store or Google Play identifiers needed to confirm it. We never receive your card details.
• Notification settings: your device’s push token, platform, app version, time zone, reminder time, notification preferences, and the reminders we send you.
• Sign-in and diagnostic data: the IP address and device type of each signed-in session, and request logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.
• Usage data: the screens and pages you view and the actions you take in them (such as finishing onboarding, opening the paywall, starting a membership, completing your daily ritual, or drawing a reading), how you arrived (the referring site, campaign tags, and ad click identifier of the link you followed, or the App Store or Google Play campaign that led to an install), your approximate location from your IP address, and your device, operating system, browser, and app version. It never includes what you write, your birth details, or your readings.
• Error and crash reports: what failed, where in the app or service, and your device and app version.

How we use it

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To compute your chart and write your daily ritual (cosmic weather, card of the day, reading, and intention), your tarot readings, and your compatibility reports.
• To send the reminders you turn on, and service emails such as sign-in codes and billing notices.
• To confirm your membership with the App Store or Google Play.
• To understand how people find and use Glimmer, and to improve it. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

AI processing

Glimmer uses OpenAI to write some texts as part of the service, and sends it only anonymized details:

• Daily texts (cosmic weather, reading, intention, and reminder line): your Sun, Moon, and rising signs, the day’s card and sky as they touch your chart, your focus area, your experience level, and your recent cards and reflection moods.
• Tarot readings (Ask the cards, spreads, and moon rituals): your question or the context you give a spread, with contact details and names removed, the cards drawn, your Sun, Moon, and rising signs, your focus area, and your experience level; for a moon ritual, the sign and house of the New or Full Moon in your chart.
• A focus you write in your own words: those words, with contact details removed, to name it.

Glimmer never sends OpenAI your name, email address, birth date, birth time, or birthplace, or any account identifier, and never sends your moon ritual intentions or the people you add for compatibility. OpenAI does not use this data to train models. When AI is unavailable, readings are composed from Glimmer’s own written content.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf to run the service:

• Cloudflare: hosting, networking, security, and email delivery.
• PlanetScale: database hosting.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and push notifications (APNs).
• Google: Google sign-in, Google Play purchases, and push notifications (FCM).
• Expo: the push notification service that relays reminders to Apple and Google.
• OpenAI: writing your daily texts and tarot readings.
• Loops: lifecycle email, only when you opt in.
• PostHog: product analytics and error reporting.

Shared readings

When you share a reading or a card, we create a public page that anyone with the link can open. It shows the cards, the reading’s key line, the date and Moon phase, your Sun sign, and your name unless you turn off Show my name on shares. It never shows your question or intention. Shared pages are hidden from search engines. Remove a shared page in You › Settings › Shared links, and it stops opening.

Retention

• Account data is kept while your account exists. Inactive accounts are not purged.
• When you delete your account, your account and everything stored with it are deleted from our database right away. Copies in database backups expire within 35 days.
• Answers from using the app before creating an account (a guest session) move into your account when you create one. A guest session with no activity for 30 days is deleted with everything stored under it, unless it holds a purchase that has not yet moved to an account.
• A record of each AI request (which feature, which model, and the outcome, not the text) is kept with your account.
• Server request logs are kept for Cloudflare’s log retention period.
• Usage data and error reports are kept by PostHog, linked to an account identifier rather than your name or email address. Deleting your account deletes them from PostHog too.
• Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their policies and the tax law that applies to them.

Deleting your account

Delete your account in the app (You › Settings › Delete account). Without the app, email support@joinglimmer.com from the address you sign in with and we delete the account for you. Deletion removes your account, birth details, chart, readings, history, compatibility people, and shared pages. App Store and Google Play memberships must be cancelled in the store; deleting your account does not cancel them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. You can correct your profile and birth details in the app under You › Settings, and delete your account as described above. For any other request, including a copy of your data, contact us; we may need to verify your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Your choices

• Usage analytics: turn off Share usage analytics in You › Settings under Sharing & privacy to stop the app sending usage data and error reports. This website counts visits without an account. Glimmer uses no advertising services.
• Shared readings: turn Show my name on shares on or off, and remove shared links, in You › Settings under Sharing & privacy.
• Notifications: turn reminders on or off in You › Settings › Notifications, or in your device settings.
• Email: lifecycle email is sent only when you opt in, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

This website sets one cookie: a PostHog analytics cookie that holds a random identifier for this browser, for one year. It sets no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
